About this tool

Why it exists

Developed as a tool to raise awareness of energy use, emissions, and how Australia’s greenhouse reporting (NGERS) and home energy rating (NatHERS) schemes work — a free, plain-English way for businesses and households to understand their footprint and see how to improve it.

Free, and private

There is no login, no fee, and no account. Everything is calculated in your browser — nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.

Limitations

• This is an indicative self-assessment only. NGERS results are not a formal NGER report; NatHERS results are not an accredited rating.
• Thresholds, rules, emission factors and star bands change — figures shown may not reflect the latest update.
• Always confirm obligations directly with the Clean Energy Regulator, a registered auditor, or an accredited NatHERS assessor.
